Holiness Classic Project – We Love to Tell the Story!

A group of leaders are working on a project to make classic holiness messages and texts available on a broader scale. One of their targets is to develop a library of classic holiness sermons preached at camp meetings. Below is an excerpt from an email I received recently from Doug Carter, President of Taylor County Camp.

“Our goal in making these holiness classics available (among other reasons) is to preserve the richness of the holiness doctrine, provide training materials for the preparation of holiness preachers, and to provide individual Christians with the means to do personal research into holiness so as to gain a better understanding of this important teaching of the church.”

If your camp had transcript, audio or video records of sermons preached in your Tabernacle I would commend to you this project for your investment. Please contact Rev. Dan Schafer at dschafer@nazarene.org to discuss how you can be a part of the project.

I believe the project will enhance all of our ability to share the holiness message in the decades to come.

Publicize your Camp Schedule

I used to love to get the Campmeeting Challenge when it was published and read a little about some of the other camps and their summer plans. Think of the Campmeeting Leader blog as an e-version of that publication.

As last year, send us your dates, evangelists, song evangelists and any other information about what is going on at your camp. We will publish it here and when people wander around the internet looking for holiness camps here will be one more “electronic poster” for them to learn about your ministry.

Send your information to jim@campmeetingleader.com

scnazc8.mga7pgr6kA6W.jpg
The posters we used to hang in store windows used to draw a crowd, now people can drive from a hundred miles or more to join us at our campmeetings. They use a search engine and a GPS rather than a flyer and a map. Help us help you publicize your holiness campmeeting!

Also remember to mark your calendar for the Camp Meeting Leaders Conference, September 29 – October 1, 2010 at World Gospel Mission Headquarters in Marion, Indiana.
